Announcing the 2025 Writer’s Block Season!

Writer’s Block is back for another incredible year of songs, stories, and unforgettable performances! Join us at The Bartell Theatre in Madison for three special nights celebrating the art of songwriting. Each show features a hand-picked lineup of talented artists, sharing their music and the stories behind the songs in an intimate, Nashville-style “songwriters in the round” setting.

Mark your calendars for the 2025 season:

• May 15 – Corey Matthew Hart, Jessica Mindrum, and Trapper Schoepp
• August 7 – Whitney Mann, JE Sunde, and Jake La Botz
• November 20 – Katie Dahl, Noah Guthrie, and Mark Croft

Slothtrop Music & The Bartell Theatre are thrilled to announce the launch of Writer’s Block, a brand-new concert series set to bring incredible live music experiences to Madison. The series will kick off on August 8th and feature an array of talented artists from diverse genres, creating unforgettable evenings for music lovers in the community.

Writer’s Block aims to celebrate the vibrant music scene in Madison by showcasing local, regional, national and the occasional international songwriter. Each concert will provide a unique experience, highlighting different musical styles and offering audiences a chance to discover new favorites.

“We’re excited to bring this concert series to life and offer a platform for artists to connect with audiences in an intimate and dynamic setting,” said Eric Hester, of Slothtrop Music. “Our goal is to create memorable experiences and support the thriving music community here in Madison.”
